4 New Cafés And Bakeries In Dublin To Whet Your Appetite

Looking for your next coffee fix?

Bread Naturally, Raheny

Founded in 2015 by Simon May – who Raheny natives will know well – the bakery is now owned and run by baker duo Niamh McHugh and Hayley Caprani. Having worked there for a number of years, they shared a dream of one day owning their own independent bakery. This was realised when Simon shared his desire to pass on the bakery to the next generation of bakers. Experts in the art of artisan baking, the team works throughout the night to make everything from scratch; specialising in sourdough bread, viennoiserie and brownies that are a cult favourite with their loyal customers. They’ve now entered the coffee scene two doors down from the original bakery where you can enjoy speciality Cloud Picker coffee, Dublin Farm Dairy milk and Stuff 4 Cakes chocolate.

Fable Bakery, Dún Laoghaire

Fable founders Kate and Elyse started baking in hired kitchens, selling their buns – which take three days to make, from mixing and resting the dough to laminating, shaping and baking – at market stalls. The new location at Clarinda Park West serves speciality Imbibe Coffee and freshly baked buns every day. With different daily specials, be sure to try one of their signature bakes including the twisted cinnamon bun, almond bun or a sundried tomato, olive and parmesan bun for savoury lovers. They sell out fast, so we recommend getting there early. Guaranteed THE GLOSS approved! @fable.bakery

The Edit, Blackrock

Blackrock has an abundance of great cafés, but they’re often very busy (and overpriced), so this new takeaway coffee, pastry and Italian deli at Newtownpark Avenue is already proving a hit online. Reviews ranging from, ‘Absolutely wonderful addition to the local area. The owner is so nice and the coffee is so good. If you’re a coffee fan, don’t miss out’ and ‘Really impressed, the Acai bowl was amazing and the coffee from the female barista was top notch’ means that you won’t be disappointed. Also serving smoothies, matcha, freshly baked bread, sandwiches, and a small selection of cheeses, cold meats and fine artisan produce all under one roof. A nice spot to nip into when you’re in the area.

Butlers Chocolates Café, Dundrum

Following an autumn renovation, Butlers’ much-loved Dundrum Town Centre café has reopened its doors just in time for festive season. With a new pre-order kiosk and banquet seating, Butlers is the ideal stop for shoppers refuelling on the go and those looking to enjoy a mid-shop break. A special new addition to Butlers in Dundrum is the chocolate sculpture – a masterpiece celebrating the season, meticulously created by the Butlers Chocolates Master Chocolatier. Carefully crafted over 40 hours, this sculpture contains over 5kg of sustainable chocolate. Don’t miss their new 90g Butlers Chocolate Bar range as the perfect pick-me-up, or tick off your Christmas list with a gift set for someone special.
