This in on our beauty radar …
We love what Merit Beauty are doing and use a lot of their products regularly (The Minimalist stick foundation for one, and the domed Flush Balms). The US brand is all about easy-to-use products that travel well. They’re now launching a mascara that’s worth noting if you’re in the market for a new one. And let’s face it, you probably are – few of us remember or bother to change our mascara regularly enough. You’re meant to chuck it after three months (six at the most) as mascara is such a breeding ground for bacteria.
Merit’s new Clean Volume Tubing Volumising Mascara lands this week, and it’s one to check out. It lifts, it curls, it darkens and, with its small slim brush, it’s very easy to comb on and rinse off with water. The tubing formula features plant waxes and shea butter, and it comes in black and brown (€29). Merit claim wear of 16 hours though, to be honest, we’re never up that long to test it out. But I definitely like the lash-defining, spiky effect that gives you some attitude. It’s lash-enhancing without being over the top – a perfect summer lash.
We love this mascara all the more for having the fabulous Jemima Kirke as a face; rewatching Girls is never a bad idea, and reading Lena Dunham’s extraordinary memoir Fame Sick (4th Estate) recently has already made us revisit this classic show.
Available from June 25 at meritbeauty.com, and instore and online at Sephora.
