New EU laws (Extended Producer Responsibility or EPR) come into force this month, requiring manufacturers to take responsibility for the disposal of post-consumer products. Recycling textiles made up of complex mixtures of fibres is difficult and costly, but mono-fibres, made from a single type of fibre, can be recycled easily.
