Hands up: how many of us have bought pieces from Instagram ads? I have – on more than one occasion. But, just as I thought the algorithm was beginning to lose its uncanny knowledge of my personal taste, I get served a swipe up for Lié Studio. It was the image that drew me in: two impossibly stylish women (one in a chic funnel neck the other a simple dark coat) with undone hair wearing the kind of understated jewellery that’s making headlines amongst the style set right now. They looked, not like e-comms models, rather the kind of women you catch sight of on the street and wonder how they make looking effortless seem so polished: I was hooked. 

When I discovered who was behind the brand, it all made sense. Lié Studio is the brainchild of sisters Amalie and Cecilie Moosgaard (pictured above). If they look familiar, it’s because both are Danish models who have walked for the likes of Prada, Gucci and Alexander McQueen, as well as starring in countless campaigns. Aside from that, their personal sense of style has put them in the category of ‘Scandinavian It girl’ populated by the likes of Pernille Teisbaek and Caroline Brasch.

Conversely, the concept of Lié Studio is to make jewellery for those who aren’t really into jewellery. That is, the pieces are as pared back as can be. The emphasis is less on bling, more on refined necklaces and earrings that will enhance your outfit. The duo apply the same thinking to accessories as they do getting dressed; prioritising the idea of a uniform. The result is a classic and simple collection that’s ultra-wearable: “We like anything that makes getting dressed each day easier and less stressful. Therefore it is easy to put on some timeless jewellery to make a simple outfit a bit more interesting.”
