From Comedy And Romance To Horror: It’s Cinema Time

You don’t want to miss these new releases …

We Live In Time

This romantic drama starring Andrew Garlfield and Florence Pugh – what a duo – got a lot of buzz straight off the bat due to its unintentionally hilarious promotional campaign that went viral … if you know, you know! The couple is brought together by a surprise encounter that changes their lives. As they embark on a path pressured by the limits of time, they learn to cherish each moment of their unconventional love story. Garlfield and Pugh captivate the audience like no other … just make sure to have tissues at the ready.

Anora

This modern day Pretty Woman has big boots to fill. Starring Mikey Madison (Once Upon A Time In Hollywood), Mark Eidelstein and Yuriy Borisov, the story follows a young sex worker from Brooklyn. Anora believes she has achieved her fairytale ending when she meets and marries the son of a wealthy oligarch. Suddenly, the news of their marriage reaches Russia and her dream life is threatened as her husband’s parents come to New York to have the marriage annulled. This unusual tale will take you on a rollercoaster of emotion filled with love, light and darkness. Madison, in particular, is a triumph. Catch it while you can in the Stella Cinema, Lighthouse and IFI in Dublin.

Nosferatu

For horror fans, this modern remake has everyone talking, jumping and squirming, which is the desired effect! Set in the 1830s, Nicholas Hoult stars as an estate agent who travels to Transylvania to meet with a prospective client, Count Orlok. In his absence, his new bride (Lily Rose Depp) begins having an overwhelming sense of dread and horrific visions of what’s to come. Emma Corrin, Bill Skarsgård and Willem Dafoe round out the stellar cast to bring us this story in a whole new way. The costumes alone are worth watching for, if you ask us.

Queer

This period romantic drama set in 1950s Mexico City follows Daniel Craig as an outcast American expatriate who becomes infatuated with a young soldier. As they travel together into the jungle, they see for the first time the true definition of love and the depths that it can go to. Co-starring Drew Starkey, known for his role in Outer Banks, this unlikely couple transports us into their intimate world. Also starring Jason Schwartzman and Lesley Manville. Craig was nominated for a Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice and Screen Actors Guild award for his performance.

A Real Pain

Written and directed by Jesse Eisenberg, who stars opposite Kieran Culkin, this story follows two mismatched cousins who reunite for a tour through Poland to honour their beloved grandmother. Old tensions resurface against the backdrop of their family history as we stumble along with them on this heartfelt odyssey. The chemistry and quirky comeraderie between the two leads is palpable, with Culkin winning a well-deserved Golden Globe for his role.

Babygirl

Nicole Kidman stars as a high-powered CEO who puts her career and family on the line when she begins an affair with her much younger intern (Harris Dickinson). We couldn’t get enough of Kidman in the series The Perfect Couple on Netflix, so she never disappoints on the big or small screen. We love everything from the style to the illicit lust – plus the timeless Antonio Banderas who plays her husband – it’s sure to be a box office smash.
