You can’t get more classic than a bouclé jacket. While they’re always on the fashion register, the look has become even more popular of late with brands such as, in the mid-range, Anine Bing and, at the high end of the scale, Alessandra Rich giving it a new edge. Our favourite kind of bouclé jacket? Well, we’d love to go all the way back to the source material with a vintage Chanel tweed bouclé button-detail jacket. However, until that is within budget we do like to keep an eye out for some iterations that punch above their weight. While jackets and cardigans are still popular, what’s also interesting is the rise in blazers-cum-dresses, look to H&M and Self Portrait who are getting this right. Also, note the styling. The coolest way to wear one right now is with sheer tights and the shoe of the moment, a black slingback kitten heel, as pictured below.

Cream bouclé weave blazer dress, €59.99, at H&M.

Black bouclé knitted jacket, M&S Collection, €57, at M&S.

Cream bouclé mini dress, €500; www.self-portrait.com.

Ivory bouclé zip front jacket, €189, at Mint Velvet.

Cream bouclé-look textured cardigan, €99.95, at Massimo Dutti.
