In case you’ve missed it, the coolest way to liven up a perfunctory winter look – think lots of layers, a wool coat, thick socks and trainers or boots – is with an unexpected shot of red. Look for a knitted jumper, or a triangle scarf, in a shade of chilli or scarlet.

Channel a bit of spring hope. Wearing white points to brighter skies, longer days and (hopefully!) less turbulent weather. A white coat is a standout piece, white jeans and knits make for good alternative options (shop an edit of our favourite, Irish-designed knits here).

Speaking of the aforementioned pop of red, consider a pair of red socks to be a gamechanger.

Head to toe knitwear seems pretty appropriate for mid-winter. Update your outfit by nodding to the most popular trainer trends of 2025 (shop an edit of the trainers trending now here).

Dressing up? It might still be cold out, but mix things up with a pair of patent boots. If this sounds like a lot of effort, stick just to one or two colours (keep things simple in black, we say) and it will make for an effortless look.

If you’re bored of the hibernation look, try a little high-low dressing. While the basis of this ‘fit – jeans and a turtleneck – relies on staples, the addition of point-toe boots and a striking utility jacket (plus, a great structured bag) make things a little more interesting.

According to the Pantone Colour Institute, the colour of 2025 is Mocha Mousse, a rich brown that sits somewhere between beige and chocolate. Work the look with a transitional jacket and chunky footwear.

Ensure your denim speaks to the now. A pair of C-shape or barrel-leg jeans, particularly ones with a turn-up, are the darling of the denim scene.

Liven things up with an interesting hat. Whether you embrace a sheepskin style, a beret or a ladylike chapeau, it’s the perfect way to upgrade your outerwear.

Rebel against the minimalist looks that flood your feed (we love them, but we also crave something different) with a vintage-inspired look that nods to the 1970s. Think wide-leg jeans, ruffled blouses, suede accessories, as well as shades of oxblood and tobacco.
