True to its name, the new Longines Mini DolceVita is a sweet petite watch that can be enjoyed daily and looks as good with a black polo-neck sweater as it does with an LBD in the evening.
As aficionados of Longines will know, its bestselling DolceVita collection was inspired by a 1927 rectangular watch and debuted in 1997. Since then the collection has expanded and now offers an amazing array of materials, sizes, dials, bracelets and colours while retaining its signature Art Deco-style rectangular case.
If you are looking for a go-to accessory, the just launched Mini DolceVita is perfect for daily wear. Compact and comfortable, it features softer lines and smaller steel cases – measuring 21mm x 29mm. Powered by a highly accurate (L178) quartz movement, it’s a set-it-and-forget-it watch which is also water resistant to 30 metres.
A highlight of the Mini DolceVita is the newly designed five row stainless steel “brick” bracelet incorporating 198 links, which make it particularly eye-catching. The case, meanwhile, is framed by 38 diamonds, totalling 0.456 carats. Inside the dial (Longines describes it as a “Cosmo” dial) there’s a silver sunray background, an hour ring with Roman numerals, a railroad track and a sunken seconds subdial. These circular details contrast with the rectangular dial; the watch is the epitome of timeless style and bold contemporary details.
This, of course, is not the only Mini DolceVita model; there are eleven variations incorporating a range of different dial designs, colours, and bracelet/strap options. Some have diamonds, others have understated cases without diamonds on a stainless steel bracelet or on a stylish black leather strap. The Roman-dialled watch is also available in a red leather strap – particularly seasonal and in sync with AW23 fashions.
Four watches in the collection feature the newly designed stainless steel bracelets surrounded by diamonds and fitted with straps in striking fashion-forward colours – ivory white, mint green, sunray pink and pale blue. The straps match the colour of the Roman rectangular dial and, with their gilt numerals and hands, create a three dimensional impression.
