Minimal Chic: 7 Monochromatic Outfits To See Out The Season

By Sarah Macken

These black and white looks are timeless but also of-the-moment …

Layer up that white linen dress you’ve been wearing all summer with a leather jacket or a knit slung around your shoulders.

A monochrome outfit can still work: just look to style influencer Christina Grasso in tailored trousers with a white T-shirt and statement jacket.

As the warm weather wanes, pair flip-flops with wide or straight-leg jeans and a blazer for transeasonal layering.

Denim Bermuda shorts are the key piecce we’ve been wearing on repeat. Swap out a T-shirt for a lightweight merino wool or cashmere jumper.

This season’s slip skirt? Team it with a longline shirt and knot a knit around your waist to get extra mileage out of the look.

Jewellery goes XL (that is, extra long): add a longline pendant or landyard necklace for an instant update. Bonus points if it has a summery feel, care of a scallop motif or fish detailing.

Trialling the capri pants trend? Opt for a kitten heel in the same shade as your trousers: the streamlined colours are easy to wear while the small heel will elongate your legs.
