Zara’s brand new Pet Collection just dropped online, featuring chic pieces for pooches, like cosy quilted jackets and smart bright mutt-macs …
Spanish supershop Zara keeps its finger firmly on fashion’s pulse and this season, it’s detecting … a rapid heartbeat for beloved pets. It’s pretty savvy of the brand to identify that nowadays, as we browse Zara’s online human-products during a rainy rule-bound February, there is no event for us to dress up for – but Bailey, Fido and Rex need fresh threads to flex on their furry pals at the park.
Cleverly repositioning as THE high street brand to dress your doggo in, Zara’s brand new Pet Collection just dropped online, featuring chic pieces for pooches, like cosy quilted jackets and smart bright mutt-macs. The dog-models on the site (which, apparently, were just the human-model’s own hounds) proudly sport sweet little gingham bandana collars, and adorable sunshine-yellow raincoats, as the photographer seems to chase them about the set.
Don’t worry, Zara has taken care to be inclusive – all styles come in several sizes to suit your pooch, even the adorable sweatshirts and hoodies (yes, sweatshirts and hoodies!) and obey the shade trends of this year, with chocolate brown and dark grey for the soft stuff and black and khaki for the canine coats. They have tan-coloured leather collar-and-lead sets, and gingham bone-toy-and-brush sets, too, which would make pretty snappy gifts for the pet-obsessed in your life. Don’t we all deserve a treat, yes we do.
If your pup is more of a snoozer than a show-off, maybe think about treating him or her to one of the Pet Collection beds Zara offers, or the posh Pet Collection blanket. There is a linen and cotton one that rolls outwards to reveal a shearling lining. Honestly, a dog’s life ain’t so bad!
All that’s left to do is synchronise your own ‘fit with Fluffy’s, and the two of you are ready to storm your 5k. Why not treat them one more time by taking them to brand new #DogSpot, pet boutique Barking Mad? A pet shop like you’ve never seen before, Barking Mad stocks their own high-quality grain-free pet food that your noble steed will love, as well as all the bells and whistles (literally) required for puppy-and kitten-rearing. They will even engrave and tag collars for you, and offer delivery!
Pop down to their store in the Swan Centre in Rathmines – or their brand new branch on Brookfield Terrace Blackrock. The staff are friendly and helpful, and double as baristas – so feel free to treat yourself to a flat white while the pup has a snoop around the shop.
