Why You Should Get Down To The Trinny London Pop-up In Dublin Today And Tomorrow

Pack up your entire make-up requirements into a single stack of CLICK-TOGETHER POTS with TRINNY WOODALL‘s first BEAUTY COLLECTION

We had breakfast with Trinny Woodall yesterday as she landed in Brown Thomas straight from her flight to launch her Trinny London beauty line in the store – there’s a pop-up on Level 2 until Saturday and after that the bestsellers will be available online at www.brownthomas.com, as well as via the Trinny London website. You can catch her at the pop-up tomorrow (Saturday 14 April) from 12-2pm and we highly recommend braving the crowds to do so. She is hugely vivacious and fun, and massively passionate about make-up as well as fashion and style.

Trinny breezed in to the press launch and charmed the entire room in a matter of minutes, glittering in silver sequins (which she wears often to brighten up the face, she says), having changed en route in the taxi. What really stood out, though, apart from her huge energy, was her ability to size up what would suit each person – from a wide age group – and choose shades and items for them on the spot. She’s really thought through the idea of being “ageless” in approach for Trinny London, and so there are really bright lip colours through to subtle shades for eyes, lips and cheeks, all in flattering cream formulas. The only people who won’t go for it are those who want to be entirely plastered in heavy make-up – these are sheer but buildable textures, with everything from subtle golden bronzer to a great foundation/concealer in twelve shades (€34); a great way of downsizing from those huge bottles and tubes of foundation we lug around and never finish.

The central idea is that you can pack up your entire make-up requirements into a single stack of click-together pots, so that your make-up is fast to do and easy to transport, without lugging round a huge bag of kit. If you’ve ever decanted your favourites into Muji pots, you’ll know this is handy. It’s an investment to get started, with each pot from €19 (lip gloss) up to €34, and most around the €30 mark, and I’d love to see some kind of refill offering. But you could start with just one and build up gradually – I’d go for the great concealer (€34) or the Valentina lip colour that Trinny picked out for me – a gorgeous glowing jewel-like ruby shade – or the excellent BFF Cream with SPF30 (€42).

Ok, so it’s hard to choose just one. I love the idea of a buildable set, and that it’s so good to travel with. It feels fresh and modern. Look out for more skincare on the way, plus additional items like mascara and liners, to come … Meanwhile, do check out the pop-up – Brown Thomas is the only store worldwide stocking the brand right now – before it goes.
