Dundrum on Ice
There is 500m² of crisp, white ice in a great new location on Level 2 on the Sandyford Road in Dundrum South so that you can skate your heart out until well into the New Year. Swishy skating sessions, great fun with friends or family, last 45 minutes, giving non-skaters enough time to wrap their hands around a warming hot chocolate or sneak in some Secret Santa shopping. Book online now to ensure you get the times and dates you want.
The Play’s The Thing
It’s hard to beat a seasonal performance for giving you the festive feels! Weekend performances from the super-talented kids of Miss Ali Stage School, St James’ traditional Brass Band and evocative Christmas Choirs will get you in the mood. At The Mill Theatre, the panto is the rollickingly good Robin Hood … www.dundrum.ie/christmas-centre-performances
Sit Back and Relax
If you feel like parking the kids while you get some shopping sorted, or the thought of a matinee in a darkened auditorium sounds like just the thing to counter the madness, check out the programme at [email protected]
Shake A Leg
If your kids need to run off some nervous energy (and all that seasonal sugar), don’t forget brilliant jungle gym Funky Monkeys where they can climb and swing to their heart’s content, and Rainforest Adventure Golf, where they can pitch and putt for 45 minutes on two Aztec and Mayan-themed courses – and enjoy pizza, wings and ice cream before or after! You might even join them and sip a restorative glass of wine while they play…
Eat, Drink and Be Merry
This time of year, it’s lovely to take an hour or two to sit down and enjoy a relaxed lunch or early dinner, pre- or post-shopping. The very family-friendly Jamie’s Italian, Milano and Wagamama are all perfect for bigger groups, and serve crowd-pleasing favourites in a very festive atmosphere. If you’re meeting friends or taking time out to dine a deux, you might prefer contemporary Mediterranean at Harvey Nichols’ First Floor Restaurant, tapas at the cosy, candle-lit Port House, the wonderful Irish-owned Mad Egg for tea-brined organic chicken in a tasty bun, or buzzy, grown-up Siam Thai and gastro-bar PMacs …
Park for just €9
Don’t forget you can park all day at Dundrum Town Centre for €9 www.dundrum.ie/parking.
