What’s In My Beauty Bag? Dentist Lisa Creaven on her Essential Selection …

Cosmetic dentist LISA CREAVEN shares her beauty bag essentials with Sarah Halliwell …

We all have our failsafe beauty items – the ones we return to and that inspire utter loyalty (and slight panic that they might be discontinued). In a new online series, we’re asking women of all ages to tell us what their enduring favourites are, and why …

Dr Lisa Creaven, cosmetic dentist

Essential travel beauty I travel all the time so feel I have this down to a tee! Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream is great for lips and hands especially as they get so dry flying. And of course a Spotlight Whitening strip for on the plane.

Favourite foundation This is so tough! I don’t like a huge amount of coverage so I am always on the lookout for something dewy and hydrating; I really like Luminous Silk by Armani.

Favourite perfume Blackberry & Bay Cologne by Jo Malone London. It’s my signature scent, I am obsessed! I won’t let Vanessa (my sister) buy it as it’s my smell … We share everything else but that’s sacred.

Bargain beauty product Good old Vaseline – I go through so much of it. I get really dry lips so it’s always in my bag.

Haircare Yourells hair in Galway is my go-to – the team there are amazing and I always leave my style in their capable hands. In terms of haircare I love OUAI hair products by Jen Atkin: they really work and the packaging is fab.

Beauty destinations I have two little girls so going for a facial or massage is a very rare luxury: when I do get time I love to opt for a more prescriptive facial as opposed to a relaxing treatment. And I get peels as often as I can.

Most loved lipsticks My ultimate is Nars Audacious Lipstick in Raquel. I always keep my make-up pretty pared-back so some Raquel and blush and I am a new woman.

Ultimate mascara This is very tough as I constantly change. At the moment I’m using Benefit Rollerlash – I love the wand as it picks up all the little lashes.

On my skin at night Serum and eye cream – I try not to overload my skin with product or I suffer from congestion. I look for a serum with hyaluronic acid as hydration is key especially for fine lines. With two under-twos I need all the help I can get …

Most luxurious item Probably my La Mer Hydrating Mask. I use it very sparingly.

Best tip Invest in your skincare. Using prescriptive skincare products and seeking advice from a professional is really important. ZO skincare was developed by Dr Zein Obagi and although it’s on the pricey side it is very scientific and I personally have seen great results.
