The Best Body Oils to Give This Christmas

When it comes to failsafe beauty gifts, a luxurious body oil is something you rarely buy yourself but is really lovely to have, and easier to choose for someone else than a perfume. A light body oil is a lovely way to wear scent, too, while moisturising skin and making it glow. It’s hard to select just three, but these are the ones we’d love the most:

1 Les Exclusifs de Chanel Huile Douce is a light white musk and jasmine scented oil for hair and body. Wear your favourite Exclusifs scent over the oil to make it last even longer (you can’t beat woody Coromandel or Sycomore for winter). €150, exclusive to Brown Thomas. Another option is the limited edition No5 Fragments d’Or in a huge glass bottle. It’s a gel texture that leaves a veil of fragant gold on your skin (€85) – what could be lovelier for a New Year’s party?

2 I’m always going on about Bare Chic Skin and make no apologies – Fiona Carr’s beautiful natural skincare, all made in the west of Ireland with organic, raw ingredients, sustainable and beautifully nourishing on your skin, is nothing short of brilliant in my book. Her Glistening Body Oil, in signature violet glass bottle, is full of natural wonders and smells beautifully of lemongrass and jasmine. €55, www.barechicskin.com (free worldwide shipping).

3 I would include Frederic Malle’s Portrait of a Lady Hair & Body Oil, as it is absolutely divine, but it’s a big spend at €150. Still luxurious but a bit more accessible is Tom Ford Body Oil in bestselling Neroli Portofino (€56). It gives you a hit of uplifting summer sunshine in the midst of winter, and comes in a distinctive aquamarine bottle.
