This Catwalk Star Lip Colour Really Does Suit Everyone

The one LIP COLOUR we can’t stop looking at – straight from the catwalk …

Looking through the catwalk pictures for spring/summer 2019, one lip colour kept jumping out at me. At the Escada show, the pinky-red matte lipstick looked dazzling on all the models – it’s demonstrably one of those elusive colours that looks great on every skin tone.

When I realised that Pat McGrath Labs was behind the scenes for make-up, it all made sense. The last few times I’ve admired someone’s lipstick, they’ve pulled out a gold lips-adorned case from their bags – the distinctive packaging of McGrath’s lipsticks. I bought a mini trio in Sephora in New York last year, and love the super-pigmented, full-impact colours. The good news is that these are now available at Selfridges in London, along with a whole lot more Pat, including the much-feted Mothership Eyeshadow Palettes) plus, more randomly, and no less fabulous, some exclusive David Bowie T-shirts. As if we needed more reason to plan a visit …

The colour you’re seeing here at Escada is MatteTrance lipstick in Forbidden Love (at, €35, free shipping to Ireland).
