The cut out trend is a shortcut to looking chic – and sleek – for spring …
When it comes to dressing up, and always looking luxurious, we never fail to gain some inspiration from the feed of Vogue Williams – that is when we’re not cooing over her Hamptons-style home in Howth (see the house tour here).
We’ve noticed, too, that Williams relies on a certain style of dress as a go-to for looking polished and oh-so-now. In the posts below, shared by Williams’ stylist Corina Gaffey, Vogue gives a masterclass in how to make the cut out dress look super-chic. Namely, it’s all about sleek fabrics, demure shapes and super luxe hair and makeup to go with.

The cut out trend has abounded for a few seasons now – and seems to be going nowhere for spring summer 2022, either. This season it was championed on the runway at Altuzarra, Proenza Schouler, Bottega Veneta and Alaïa. Shapes are varying; from teardrop cut outs along the neckline to flashes of flesh along the midriff, or a discreet pocket of skin at the hip.

Perhaps we love it most at Musier Paris, the label that specialises in dresses with dramatic open backs.
Get the look with this Rixo dress which has a definite nod to old Céline to it.
