Mini & Mighty Statement bags come no finer – or more petite. Proving that small can be perfect, Christian Louboutin’s grained leather snake-effect mini shoulder bag has a detachable chain strap. No need to wear a bracelet – this little treasure does the heavy lifting for you. €1,390, at Brown Thomas Dublin.

Latest Drops These curvy drop earrings by Natasha Sherling have an 1980s feel. They’re part of her new Power collection – made here in Ireland – featuring earrings and bangles. “The inspiration came from a desire for something fresh, for a clean slate,” says Sherling. “We worked with recycled silver to achieve oversize proportions while keeping pieces light and wearable. I thought something streamlined and bold would be the perfect counterpoint to all the quiet luxury we’re seeing now – the silver just pops!” Sterling silver drops, €395; www.natashasherling.ie.

As year-round blackwearers, we can get behind Margaret O’Rourke’s MoMuse collection for winter, Nature’s Black which plays with dark stones, such as glistening black agate, contrasted with brilliant white pearls, from €65.

New pieces in MoMuse’s Synergy collection, a collaboration with Ingrid Hoey, are beautifully understated and modern.

We covet the fine jewellery line, with forever rings from €495 for an 18ct plain gold ring. MoMuse 18ct gold emerald and natural diamond half eternity ring, €1,350. www.momuse.ie

Make A Statement Go big or go home with a conversation piece: Irish designer Tracey Trainor creates pieces that are a cross between jewellery and sculpture, and stole the show at Brown Thomas CREATE this year. More low-key are silver rings, from €325, and sleek silver cufflinks for Christmas gift ideas.

Thomas Sabo’s bright and brilliant Cosmic Amulet collection features a rainbow of coloured stones. Missoma’s new collection features lightweight earrings that pack a punch (above) Missoma Wavy Ridge Twisted Chubby Hoop earrings, €135, at Brown Thomas.

Crystals & Co pops up at Dundrum Town Centre this month. Ombré Three Drop Earrings, €79; www.crystalsandco.com.

For flamboyant showstoppers, look to Melissa Curry’s Gingko collection – we love these lipstick-red, Large Ginkgo earrings with pearl detail , €210; www.melissacurry.com.

All Wrapped Up Oversize scarves are the best thing about winter. Ros Duke’s new Harvest collection features a damson Bubble Wrap in the softest cashmere (€425; www.rosduke.com), while Anna Guerin’s generous Cocoon fringed herringbone scarves (above) in luxurious superfine lambswool (€150; www.brownthomas.com) are the perfect pairing for your winter coat (preferably The Landskein’s dove-grey one.)

Va-Va-Vintage Elva Robins’ Collected vintage and antique ring collection dates from Georgian and Victorian times to contemporary antique-style pre-owned rings. “I specialise in rings as they are symbolic and unique. The most popular are Art Deco, as designs from that era have a contemporary feel. Currently popular are ‘gypsy rings’ – bands inset with diamonds or sapphires. These are easy to wear every day and they don’t get in the way as a statement ring might. Signet rings in carnelian or onyx make meaningful gifts and look cool right now.” www.collected.ie.

Bags Of Style We’re always searching for a forever bag, and love a long strap – so practical, yet elegant. Cork-based Sómas has pivoted from candles to jewellery, homewares and accessories, including this range of Italian-made leather bags. Margaret Urbanowicz’s designs feature low-key crossbody bags (above) and woven leather holdalls with adjustable handles, from €130. Star piece? We love the Farah woven Hobo bag in khaki, far more accessible than similar designer styles, €270; www.somasstudio.com.

Another Irish bag brand, Landa, champions the chain-handle bag (above), adding a touch of glamour to this neat practical leather clutch – also available in brilliant scarlet. Tilia mini bag with chain, €198; www.landabags.com.

Little Gems Jamie Genevieve of Vieve beauty on the jewellery she always wears: “Jewellery is all about memories for me. I have Cartier and Anoushka bracelets that mark milestones, mostly gifts from my husband. My 1995 Rolex, one of the first things I bought, was less expensive than you’d think as it was pre-owned. I seek out jewellery shops when I travel; I got a fleur de lys gold charm on the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. My engagement ring is by Digby & Iona jewellers in Brooklyn, New York, and my wedding ring was custom-made in Glasgow by a friend’s dad.”www.vieve.co.uk
