See All The Pictures From Look The Business 2019

There were 1,500 guests at THE GLOSS Magazine’s Look The Business 2019 in association with Vodafone last night. More than 500 companies were represented in the room – a powerful driving force!

Women from the worlds of finance, banking, media, law, marketing and recruitment networked at a buzzy and glamorous champagne reception in the RDS (the space completely transformed by The Gloss team in elegant cream tones, with jewel-toned flowers on every beautifully dressed table, and huge sparkling chandeliers hanging over the 30 metre long catwalk) before MC for the evening, Aoibhinn Ní Shúilleabháin welcomed guests on behalf of Jane McDonnell, Publisher and Sarah McDonnell, Editor of THE GLOSS.

There were speeches from Look the Business sponsor, Anne O’Leary, CEO of Vodafone, on the wider aspirations of business, and the need to balance revenue and profits with loftier aims for society, and beauty business entrepreneur Trinny Woodall who gave an honest and humorous account of establishing her business and making her vision come to life. Dressed in a fabulous white sequinned trouser suit, Trinny entertained guests with her insights on the power of fashion, how it influences business outcomes and how wearing what makes you feel good has serious impact.

The keynote address was given by transparency activist and pro-democracy campaigner, Gina Miller, whose amazing life story and successful court challenges over the British government’s right to exit the EU without approval from parliament, have made her one of the most influential women to speak at Look the Business and resulted in a standing ovation from the audience.

In between presentations from these wonderful and inspiring women, supper and wines, and the amazing fashion show, were more than a hundred glossy gifts from the Designer Handbag draw (including a champagne appointment at Boodles with a voucher worth €2,000 to spend plus a celebratory lunch at The Westbury) and a divine cashmere scarf from Lainey Keogh for one person at every table.

20 gorgeous models, a 30 metre catwalk (the longest ever in Ireland), choreographer and stylist Catherine Condell and DJ Steve Reddy were just some of the key ingredients for the incredible fashion show. The line-up of THE GLOSS’s favourite designers, labels and retailers included designers Lainey Keogh, Louise Kennedy, Irish labels Magee 1866 and Avoca, boutiques owned by great Irish businesswomen including Samui, Khan, and Electra, and a great collection from M&S who are marking 40 years in Ireland this year, Kildare Village and Next.
