Perfect Partywear Does Exist – Here’s Where to Find It

2 MIN READ SAVE

We can hear the champagne corks popping! Christmas party season has begun in earnest now and heralds the hunt for some great pieces – or one great piece – to add to your festive fashion collection.

You’re looking for a glamorous dress or elegant jacket to wear to drinks or dinner, a fabulous velvet suit to wear on date night, impeccably cut trousers and a beautiful sweater to slip on for a family dinner or drinks by the fire with friends. Not to mention all the other lovely occasions which make Christmas a fabulous time of year, even if it can be occasionally demanding on your wardrobe.

A trip to Dundrum Town Centre delivers incredible fashion choice under one roof, with no-hassle parking, lots of great places to stop for coffee or lunch – and fantastic salons where you can book your pre-party prep or have a bouncy blow dry. It pays to be prepared!

Now back to shopping: for party nights out, think Folkster and Zara, where this season’s velvets and metallics lend sheen and sparkle to elevate your evening wear. For date night vavoom, browse designer brands and elegant shirts and tops from current catwalk favourites to wear with your favourite jeans at BT2. Look for cashmere sweaters and great silk blouses at Massimo Dutti. At Marks and Spencer, you’ll find incredibly elegant print dresses, soft cashmere knits and that perfect sparkly top, while at Mint Velvet, you’ll find a pretty palette and soft tailoring that skims and flatters, at Hobbs, fitted dresses, gorgeous blouses and great party skirts. At L.K. Bennett, a knockout red sequinned dress, a maxi print dress or sleek satin suit … Don’t forget accessories: in every store there is a chic clutch, a little faux fur stole or a fabulous pair of shoes to give your party look a current fashion feel.

Late night opening between now and Christmas Eve means you can shop after work too, even squeeze in time for dinner or a movie afterwards (a reward for successful shopping). If you arrange to meet a friend for a glass of festive bubbles before or after, you can make a party out of your shopping trip too. Why ever not? It’s practically compulsory at this time of year!
