Why We Can’t Wait For & Other Stories To Open In Dublin

ANTICPATION IS MOUNTING as we wait for the opening of & OTHER STORIES on Grafton Street. Official word is that they are hoping it will be PRE-CHRISTMAS (it seems builders treat retailers and individuals the same when it comes to deadlines), but we can still shop online until the new store’s DOORS SWING OPEN …

The cool-girl feel of the brand is a slick hybrid of two studios – one based in Paris, one in Stockholm. The difference in style and feel is almost stereotypical: Paris bring glamour and sex appeal, with underlying bohemian tones; Stockholm is all about clean lines, sculptural shapes and a calm, muted palette.

This concept extends throughout, including to accessories and jewellery. At the recent S/S preview, they also had some pieces from the current collection – and as party season fast approaches, we had our eyes on some real statement standouts.

From the Paris atelier, pictured above, & Other Stories are really embracing the return of the brooch – a trend we’ve seen coming for a while now, but it’s great to see the high street producing their fresh take on it – think coloured acrylics, gobstopper sizing and just a little sparkle.

Meanwhile, the contrast from Stockholm (below) is clear: sharp and minimal pieces include more brooches, this time sculptural and clean, as well as incredibly slick wire earrings, which need to be tried on to be understood – but when they are in, wow.

We really can’t wait for the new store to open up so we can play with all the pieces in person, but for now, get a taste online, here.
