New Season Earrings: More is More

Dries Van Noten

With no clue as to what’s happening with the weather, and a desperate desire to update our wardrobes in some way, we are embracing the spring summer trend for giant earrings with gusto.

Simone Rocha

Every spring summer catwalk was awash with chandelier earrings – big, beaded and a hint of sparkle is the name of the game here. Asymmetry is key, with lots of smaller beads coming together to create great impact. I am particularly obsessed with what Marni are producing, although they are selling out everywhere so quickly. Snap this yellow acrylic pair up from before they go too! Simone Rocha (exclusively in Ireland at Havana) is working in crystal this season; it keeps her take on this trend very light and feminine despite the fierce size of the jewels.

Saint Laurent

For nighttime vibes (and if you’re feeling brave), why not add some matching glitter to your hair parting, as seen at Dries Van Noten? One interesting point to note – despite the slightly haphazard look of the bead stringing, we are back to working in pairs. So store the single chandeliers for now and go all out in both ears for this forthcoming (hopefully sunny) season.
