It’s all about small pleasures at the moment. And a new nail colour fits that category. 2 December is the month to wear maximum metallics, glitter and iridescence. 3 I love this Chanel Le Vernis in Frenzy (€27), a beautiful seashell soft pink/taupe that looks elegant with everything. It launched in May, but we are really appreciating its subtlety right now, and especially how well it goes with black knitwear.

4 Harry Styles’ Pleasing collection of nail colours celebrates pearls, with their flattering gleam, and this Perfect Pearl Polish (€18) is one of the four shades he’s come up with (€59 set of four). Be aware that unfortunately, ordering from the website adds on shipping, duty and tax charges that are very offputting (so buy one nail polish for €18 and you’ll pay €17 on top, for example). 5 I’m a big fan of Zara’s affordable and refillable make-up collection – and the nail colours are a bargain at €5.95. Try the new Light On Top Coat for enhancing every shade you own, or go icy cool with Ballerina Pink.
