LTB19 Speaker Trinny Woodall: Look Your Best, Do Your Best

When beauty entrepreneur Trinny Woodall accepted our invitation to speak at LTB19, the unstoppable Trinny was quick to create a whirlwind around the opportunity. She wanted to meet as many of her Ireland-based Trinny Tribe as she possibly could, partnering with The Gloss at a masterclass the day before LTB, co-hosting another with designer Louise Kennedy and squeezing in other gatherings in between shopping and filming a documentary from her base in The Merrion.

Taking to the LTB stage after supper to speak about how she made her vision of the Trinny London beauty brand come to life, her energy, sincerity and humanity were clear. Looking stunning in an ultra-white sequinned trouser suit, the warm and engaging Trinny recounted tales of her early life and career path, culminating in her decision, following a meeting with Susannah Constantine at a party, to focus her career around their shared passion for clothes. Thus began her successful stint as a TV presenter of What Not to Wear, sharing insights and styling tips to a huge audience of receptive women. She loved it, relishing the chance to make a positive impact on women whose fears and frustrations about their appearance were holding them back and making them miserable. It was early in her life, Trinny told the audience, that she understood that if women look their best, they do their best.

When the TV series ended, it was time for her to reinvent her career. At 49, after “90 per cent of my salary was gone” she began to develop her idea for an online beauty business. Thanks to initial funding from a school-mum friend, her unique idea, to downsize the daily make-up routine with portable stackable pots of foundation, lip and eye colour and concealer, became a reality. After many months of experimentation with formulas and trials with packaging, online beauty brand Trinny London launched to great acclaim. Trinny Woodall now leads a multi-million euro global business with 50 employees and hundreds of thousands of fans, including many celebs. She makes every moment count, entertaining her huge following on social media and inspiring everyone who meets her.
