When it comes to kitchens, what you don’t see matters as much as what you do. NOEL DEMPSEY DESIGN’s David Dempsey on why expert fitting is a priority …
“How kitchen cupboards work and look on the inside is as important as their external appearance. We carefully select our materials – not just the timber for the facades, but the materials for the internal carcasses, the frames, hinges, catches and ironmongery – to achieve the desired level of finish. Every detail is considered and engineered. It’s important that drawers open and close with mechanical ease, that doors fit flush and that integrated appliances are fitted to that they are stable, vented properly and installed according to the manufacturers’ instructions. It’s amazing how many kitchens are fitted without due regard for functionality – they might look good but the cracks appear after any kind of sustained use. Our kitchens are not only designed to last, but fitted to last. We combine traditional carpentry skills with the latest in tech solutions to ensure that when you open a drawer or door, it’s seamless and smooth and that what’s inside looks as good as it does on the outside.”
