Throughout the month of February, the Oyster Bar at Cliff Townhouse and its downstairs neighbour Urchin Bar, 22 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2 will be serving a tempting “Share the Love” seafood platter and donating €5 from each platter to Focus Ireland. For traditionalists, an overnight Valentine’s escape at the cosy Hunter’s Yard at Mount Juliet Estate Hotel will appeal. The Love Hearts package is available from €295, (valid from February 14 – 27), and includes an overnight stay, a bottle of bubbles, a red rose on arrival, dinner served in The Hound at Hunter’s Yard and breakfast the following morning. www.mountjuliet.ie.

 

There’s still time to book dinner for two at the superbly lit and beautifully decorated Glovers Alley on St Stephen’s Green. Chef Andy McFadden proposes two options for dinner: the four course Valentine’s Day Menu is €80 per person, or €130 with wine pairings, and the Valentine’s Day Tasting Menu (with eight courses) is €105 per person or €195 with wine pairings. There will be two sittings, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm and from 9:00pm onwards. Reservations are via the website www.gloversalley.ie.
