Four Fab Yoga Retreats To Book This Year

For the PERFECT MIX of ACTIVITY and DOWNTIME, visit one of these yoga retreats …

The Scarlet, Cornwall

Why go? The eco-friendly Scarlet, situated on a hilltop in Cornwall, impresses with its low-key luxury credentials and art collection, as well as its range of free yoga and breathing classes for guests. Highly recommended are the more intensive three-night “Scarlet Journey” breaks (£220stg) which combine yoga tuition with complementary Ayurvedic treatments in the womb-like spa. Also on site is a natural swimming pool, log-fired hot tubs and a restaurant serving up delicious seafood. The hotel is close to Padstow – home to Rick Stein’s seafood empire, which is a further enticement. £240stg.

Atzaro Hotel and Spa, Ibiza

Why go? If you want to follow in the footsteps of A-listers (Rihanna and Kate Hudson) then Atzaro Hotel and Spa will appeal. Situated in orange groves and surrounded by tropical gardens, the newly refurbished resort has a tempting spa break. It includes full board in a superior room including treatments (such as Natura Bissé facials and the resort’s signature treatment – The Integration Massage) all for €455. The open-air spa includes yoga pavilions, two pools, a dry sauna and hammam, all in keeping with with the concept of “natural luxury”. Yogis can choose from classical hatha, yogilates, vinyasa flow, as well as Pilates and meditation classes. Expect a pared-back vibe mixed with glamour and luxury.

Delphi Resort

Why go? Where better for a personal reboot than a yoga retreat in secluded Connemara. Kenneth Ryan leads the retreats at Delphi Resort, near Leenane. Expect a mix of invigorating and soothing yoga and a choice of a detox or a gourmet menu in the resort’s 814 Restaurant. From €399 per person sharing, which includes a lovely spa treatment, use of the Thermal Suite and the relaxation area with breathtaking mountain views.

Pure Results Boot Camp

Why go? Kathryn Thomas’s Pure Results wellness retreats are in enviable locations such as Mount Falcon in Co Mayo and The Johnstown Estate in Co Meath. They focus on the three pillars of health; fitness, nutrition and wellbeing, with evening yoga part of the programme.
