SEE what the talented local artists in the northwest of the country have to offer at the North West Christmas Open Exhibition at Leitrim Sculpture Centre, Manorhamilton, from today until January 14. On display will be a variety of works, including the beautiful and striking Glass Lake, Indian ink on paper, by Amy McGovern (above). TREAT the kids to an afternoon at Dublin City Council’s GLOW at Smithfield Square, Dublin 7, where there are a variety of free events on Saturday, December 5. LEARN the art of choosing the best bottles for the festive season at Christmas Cheer on Friday, December 4 at dlr LexIcon Library in Dun Laoghaire. As well as learning how to craft the perfect wreath, award-winning Brenda Joyce from the Association of Irish Floral Designers will also be demonstrating how to turn seasonal foliage into festive centrepieces and gorgeous garlands.
