THE INSIDER’S SKIN SECRET: First up is Alpha H’s brand new serum. Hyaluronic 8 is a serum with eight main ingredients that work together to give you younger-looking skin, including multi-weighted hyaluronic acid. This serum builds up the moisture levels in your skin, making fine lines and crow’s feet less visible. I find it works a treat as a make-up primer as it is incredibly illuminating. And I reckon that €42 is mega value for such an active serum. Available on www.cloud10beauty.com and at Arnotts.
THE DIARY DATE: Coming in September to the RDS is Future Beauty, a two-day event, where some of Ireland’s best doctors, nurses and dermatologists will be on stage talking about the future of beauty and where skincare is headed. If you ever wanted to have tweakments done but are afraid or need information from some of Ireland’s leading practitioners, this event is perfect. You will also be able to try out some of the newest clinical treatments. Tickets are available on www.futurebeautyshow.com.
THE INDULGENCE: Tom Ford have the best lipsticks. Newish to the line is Lip Spark – as usual they are super-pigmented but they also have lashings of really fine glitter creating the most shiny sparkly lip ever. I have been using them a lot lately and have fallen madly in love with them. They glide on like butter and are not drying to the lips. There are twelve shades to suit every skin tone but shade 05 Clash is my absolute favourite. €49 at Brown Thomas.
THE BARGAIN: I love a sale, and beauty products hardly ever go on sale. But Clarins are having an online sale right now, with my all-time favourite concealer reduced to €20.80. Instant Concealer is the perfect product for hiding dark circles. It is long-wearing without ever becoming cakey. I apply it with my fingers patting it into the area in order to get the lightest coverage. www.clarins.ie.
THE ESSENTIAL: Marc Jacobs beauty eyeliners are possible the nicest liners I have tried in ages – while in France I literally got them in every colour. There are 23 shades available but Golden Brown is the perfect brown shade, and it’s great for Irish skin tones. If you want a super quick and easy eye, apply this along the lashline and blend right away with a small fluffy brush. They are waterproof so if you don’t blend quickly you won’t get it to blend. They are perfect on their own just blended or as a base for shadow – making your eye makeup last all day. Quick, easy and most importantly it looks like you have spent ages doing your makeup! At Harvey Nichols.
