The Online Beauty Shop To Know Now

The online BEAUTY BOUTIQUE bringing EXCLUSIVE SKINCARE to your door …

Sarah Halliwell with Lucy McPhail

For a skincare reboot, we’re always curious to try exciting new things from further afield, and look beyond the beauty counter to smaller, independent brands that are doing something a bit different. So we were delighted to see FetchBeauty.com launch earlier this year, bringing far-flung and unique brands to our doorsteps. It’s founded by UCD graduate Lucy McPhail, who spent the last five years working as a beauty buyer at Harrods (the world’s biggest single beauty door), travelling the world sourcing the most intriguing and efficacious brands. Kicking off with renowned skincare brands such as Lancer and Perricone, Fetch also stocks selected items from cosmeceutical brands through to Nuori, a natural brand from Denmark, which has sell-by dates, because it’s supremely fresh and potent. I’ve been using the vitamin C serum since January and it’s one of the best things I’ve tried for brightening skin; no wonder McPhail is struggling to keep it in stock.

McPhail deals directly with the founders of these brands and hand-picks the best items, aiming to bring them to market before anyone else. The site brings us several exclusives, such as Shangpree, discovered on a buying trip to Seoul, and Lixir, which has become a cult hit via social media. Lixir’s founder Colette Haydon worked as a formulator for brands like REN and Jo Malone, and her brand is customisable and multitasking; we especially rate the highly active vitamin C gel paste that’s both a cleanser and mask. “Grooming is so important here in Ireland,” notes McPhail, who moved back from London last summer. Her own skin cornerstones are double-cleansing and SPF; her main aim is to encourage good skincare habits. She also swears by vitamin infusions, done properly, for the ultimate skin glow, and supplements to support your skin. We’ll be stocking up on Lancer’s Studio Light eye concealer (34) – it brightens the most purple of dark circles. More good news: McPhail plans to open a boutique in Ireland in the near future. For now, book tickets for FetchPop, a three-day beauty pop-up at Studio 10 on Wicklow Street Dublin from today until Saturday (24-26 June); tickets €30 redeemable against purchase on the day.
