This week we’re …

Booking … Something restoring for winter – an evening of skincare ritual and restorative yoga with?Nunaïa, on November 29 in Clontarf (€65). In the intimate space of Tara O’Rourke’s Saol Beo, you’ll be guided through gentle and restorative yoga-themed practice by candlelight, followed by a divine elemental ritual featuring fabulous Irish skincare brand, Nunaïa. And you’ll take home a Nunaïa Ground Mini Ritual Set, worth €29. Upcoming dates: Wednesday, November 29, 6.30-9pm, and December 11. For gift ideas, a voucher for one of O’Rourke’s renowned Dr Hauschka or Nunaïa facials is a surefire winner (from €95). Or book a place on O’Rourke’s Serenity Retreats for women (limited to two guests at a time) – stay in the beautiful Kilkenny countryside and enjoy holistic treatments, vegan food and mindful movement. Coveting … Chanel winter beauty gifts. Until November 15, you’ll find Wonderland @ Arnotts, a pop-up dedicated to all things Chanel. There are limited-edition N°5 fragrance gifts, Bleu de Chanel gift sets, and the Holiday 2023 Make-up collection, inspired by sequins and the?1920s. You can have a festive lip make-up application, or choose a 15-minute beauty consultation from a special service menu, from skincare to fragrance. Have your gifts specially wrapped, and personalised with mini Chanel charms and ribbon, plus a personalised gift card. www.arnotts.ie; www.chanel.com.

Delighted that … Modern Botany is back! We spotted that their entirely brilliant, all-natural deodorant is back in stock at a few stores, including Hamiltons Pharmacy, Co Cork, the lovely Crinkle Stores in Co Kerry and Urru store in Bandon, Co Cork, and it will be back online soon. We love the giant glass bottle with funnel, which you can decant into a small, travel-size bottle. Stock up too on the fabulous multitasking oil, and cleansing balm. It’s all great stuff, made in Ireland. www.modernbotany.com; try also www.ethosbeauty.ie; www.thecleanbeautyedit.com.

Enjoying … good hair days, despite the winter winds, thanks to Hair by Sam McKnight – the super-stylist’s styling range has now been joined by haircare, with shampoos, conditioners and masks, all with that softly floral signature scent that helps to make it special. Try it out in the mini size first to see what suits your hair. And don’t forget some Save the Do hairspray/heat protector, a brilliant multitasker that’s used backstage at the catwalk shows; McKnight’s method is to spray it onto your upturned head, for maximum volume. Find the full range at Brown Thomas; www.brownthomas.com. From €18 for mini shampoo/conditioner.

Disappointed in … This lemony lip balm by Nuxe. We loved the sound of a certified organic Sweet Lemon lip balm with a “lemon meringue” scent. And it certainly smells good. But on the lips, it feels waxy, more like a barrier than a hydrator, just sitting on top of the lips, as if you’ve smeared candle wax on your mouth – I just don’t like the feel of it. The Carnauba wax in it comes from Brazilian palm trees, and is used in mascaras, as well as lip balms. My daughter tried it too, in case it was just me, and she also disliked the feel of it. Shame, as it smells beautiful. €15 at pharmacies nationwide and www.feelunique.com.
