Those of us who remember the stampede for the original Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Serum always take note when the brand launches a new skincare product. P&P Intense Advanced is always part of our travel beauty kit, because it’s a small neat tube, and it works, but we’re now going to upgrade to the brand-new version, Lift & Luminate Triple Action Serum, since it’s designed specifically for ages 40-plus and it’s No7’s most impactful skin elixir. The Boots labs recognise that post-40 we want a 360° approach for our skin, something that will smooth, firm and even all at once, plus a bit of general TLC.
As ever with Boots, the international clinical tests have been wide-ranging; as Dr Mike Bell, No7 Skincare Scientific Advisor, notes, “This is our first serum with three clinically proven results. We’ve combined our most powerful anti-wrinkle technology (Matrixyl 3000 Plus) from the No7 Protect & Perfect Intense ADVANCED Serum with new firming and lightening innovation.”
High-tech serums can now clock in at €100 and more, so we’re glad to find something that works for a lot less. It’s worth noting that Boots’ research has found that 30 per cent of customers use a serum instead of a day cream, rather than using both: it’s vital to follow this or any serum with a good day cream with SPF, or a separate UV protection cream, to defend against further damage.
Yes, there’s already a waiting list for Lift & Luminate, and after a week or two trying out a preview sample, we’ll be getting in line with the best of them…
