THE GLOSS Interiors and MIELE welcomed guests to The Art of Living event with architect DERMOT BANNON and Miele expert BARRY JOYCE …
On Tuesday April 24, more than 70 guests were welcomed by Pat McGrath, CEO of Miele Ireland to the first Art of Living event with The Gloss Interiors. Miele’s fabulous working kitchen was the location for an informative and entertaining session on kitchen design and planning with Dermot Bannon.
No stranger to controversy, he delighted the audience by upending some of the adopted myths of kitchen layout and gave some brilliant insights – accompanied by visuals – on how the site and orientation of the kitchen should be the overriding influences in choosing a kitchen design.
Next up was Barry Joyce, Miele’s very own laundry expert: his tips were a revelation. From choosing lower temperatures for higher thread counts, to special detergent formulae for gym gear, it was clear that laundry is more of a science than an art. Barry even conducted some very convincing chemical experiments to show that the latest Miele machines, combined with their specially formulated detergents (seven enzymes to break down dirt, rather than the average three), are likely to prolong the life of your favourite garments.
Guests shared their images on Instagram and Sarah Mc Donnell, Editor of The Gloss, chose her favourite – a pic posted by lucky attendee Grainne Mc Clancy who went home with an amazing prize – a CM5 Miele CM5 coffee machine.
