Peek inside the HOUSE STYLE exhibition at Chatsworth House with SOTHEBY‘s specially commissioned mini series …
If fashion and history are of interest, no doubt you will be aware of the monumental exhibition taking place at Chatsworth House, the ancestral home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire in the UK. This historic house has the finest examples of everything from tapestries to porcelain, sculpture, jewellery and fashion – and for the first time it is all on display to the public. Carefully curated, it showcases how sixteen generations loved to collect – from artists as diverse as Gainsborough and Lucien Freud, and fashion collections spanning coronation gowns, 1950s couture Dior and contemporary Alexander McQueen.
To mark the occasion, exhibition sponsors Sotheby’s have commissioned a series of mini ‘episodes’ – all available to view here, each gives a tiny insight into the family, house and history – and is a lovely way to peek inside the collection without even leaving our desks.
