Pantry Style

See how guest poster David Dempsey, of NOEL DEMPSEY DESIGN, creates HIGHLY ORGANISED and BEAUTIFULLY FUNCTIONAL pantry spaces …

“Most homes don’t have enough kitchen storage but a cleverly designed pantry space can help you store more, providing plenty of room to store ingredients, delph and glassware as well as doing double-duty as a secondary prep area or bar. A key aspect is accessibility: you need to be able to see everything at a glance, helping to avoid expiry dates and buying more of something you already have. Super-organised clients who have pantries want to choose cool storage containers and to label everything. Pantries can also be organised to store small appliances, food and bigger items like vases on higher shelves, day-to-day things to be accessed easily. Practicalities aside, pantry spaces are also great for showcasing collections of china and glassware – on open shelving or in glass-fronted cabinets. While storage is the main consideration, a pantry that looks good is something everyone admires.”
