The Jewellery Collection That Is Made From Northern Irish Gold

The proverbial Irish pot of gold isn’t so unrealistic anymore, as NATASHA SHERLING details how HOUSE OF LOR are using gold from Co Tyrone to adorn their DELICATE PIECES

The whole ‘pot of gold’ thing has been an Irish legend for some time now, but away from the myth, real home-grown gold speculation has been gathering momentum for the last few years. Interest has been mounting in the possibility of gold in Donegal – but across the border, speculation and exploration has dug up proof, with gold being mined from Co. Tyrone by the Omagh Project.

It is from here that jewellery brand House of Lor source their gold, to adorn their delicate, feminine collections. Each piece has a sterling silver base, with nine carat accents highlighting the designs; Irish folklore, nature and heritage provides the main body of inspiration. Because the gold is mined in Ireland, its provenance guarantees it as being ethically mined and processed.

New for this season is their daisy and bamboo range – young, pretty, and each with that signature touch of gold. Classic collections, available online, are slightly more contemporary – we love the long, layered necklace as well as the elegant drop earrings, above.
