Bored of beige and PLAYING IT SAFE? Then IKEA’s new collaboration will appeal …
We’ve all got the memo that our homes should reflect our personalities, yet so many people still persist in having bland homes that often jar with their characters and ultimately disappoint. To counteract this, Ikea has launched a new initiative with Savile Row tailor William Hunt (known as a “maverick with fabric”), the idea of which is to encourage people to dress their homes like they would dress themselves.
Hunt is creating a range of suits using Ikea textiles – Sofia, Rosenrips, Nedja and Kungslilja – which are also used to upholster existing chairs, sofas and bedding.
William Hunt has said of the collaboration: “We are encouraging the public to push themselves just a little, and to show off their character in their own homes. We at William Hunt create heroes out of ordinary men and women through our suits, the Ikea suits create heroes out of everyday textiles and furniture”.
Ikea Ireland is offering the chance to win one bespoke IKEA X WILLIAM HUNT suit. Visit www.ikea.com for more details.
