Make THE MOST OF YOUR DOWNTIME this weekend with our glossy roundup of WONDERFUL things to do. This weekend we’re eating seasonal LOBSTER, supporting IRISH ARTISTS and packing for a LAKESIDE FESTIVAL …

JUMP at the opportunity to see Conor McPherson’s award-winning play, The Weir, which is currently on its first national tour, at the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire until July 30. The story, set in a rural pub, centres on a group of male friends speculating about a newly arrived young woman from Dublin, which then takes on a supernatural twist. Tickets, from €18, are available here.

TREAT yourself to some seasonal shellfish at Suesey Street, which is celebrating all things lobster until July 23. Four new additions to the menu include a lobster burger (pictured), lobster Thermidor, a classic lobster cocktail and hand0-cut lobster tagliatelle. Chef Graeme Dodrill is offering a masterclass in lobster cooking on Saturday, July 16 at 12.30pm. Tickets cost €25 and include lobster canapés and a glass of prosecco. Suesey Street, 26 Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2; www.sueseystreet.ie.
CELEBRATE some incredible artists at Irish Design Works, taking place until July 24 at Galway’s Niland Gallery. On display are pieces by designer Shane Holland, artist Sinead Cullen, furniture maker Daniel Gill, blacksmith Stephen Quinn, stone sculptor Colin Grehan, master basket-maker Joe Hogan and many others. Niland Gallery, Merchant Road, Galway.
SEE My Brilliant Friend, an exhibition by five female artists examining female solidarity, work, economy, protest and how to negotiate life in Dublin as an artist and a woman in 2015, in the Temple Bar Gallery. The artists exhibiting are Michelle Browne, Avril Corroon, Ella de Búrca, Lisamarie Johnson and Laugh a Defiance (Vaari Claffey and Mason Leaver Yap). Until September 3. The Temple Bar Gallery + Studios, 5-9 Temple Bar, Dublin 2; www.templebargallery.com.

PACK your capsule wardrobe for the tenth anniversary of Knockanstockan, the non-profit arts and music festival at Blessington’s snap-worthy lakes in Lacken, Co Wicklow. Wander along the art trail for flower sculptures and art installations crafted from recycled materials by visual artist Katie Herbst. Hear tunes from Raglans, Booka Brass Band, and special guests (rumoured returns from past artists who cut their teeth at the festival). Kids enter for free and can look forward to candlelit storytelling. Takes place July 22-24; www.knockanstockan.ie
