5 Glossy Things To Do This Weekend

We’re booking a WILD ATLANTIC BREAK, popping in to see an ARTS FESTIVAL and bagging some bargains at KILDARE VILLAGE

WHAT:
It’s all happening this evening at the InterContinental Dublin, where its annual Continentally Classic Best Dressed Competition takes place following Ladies’ Day at the 2018 Dublin Horse Show. Guests attending can enjoy Perrier-Jouet champagne and entertainment in the Ice Bar and gardens. As for the Best Dressed Lady, she will win the grand prize of a Mediterranean Cruise aboard the MSC Seaview, flights from Aer Lingus and a two-night stay for two at InterContinental Dublin with dinner and spa treatments. There’s still time to enter … www.intercontinentaldublin.ie

WHERE:
We’re popping over to Kildare Village where Temperley London is hosting an exclusive pop-up in the VIP lounge (located beside Tourist Information) with savings of up to 60 per cent from Friday 10 to  Sunday 12  August, (10am – 6pm). We’re fans of Alice Temperley’s flattering styles, and signature satin stitch embroidery dresses. On sale will be pieces from her AW17 collection. www.kildarevillage.com

WHO:
It’s prime festival time and this weekend we’re off to Shankill Castle, Paulstown, Co Kilkenny for the opening of its Festival of the Arts. There’s a sculpture walk through the garden, poetry recitals, film and six exhibition spaces showing more than 30 artists from around the world, making for an inspiring visual feast. The official opening will take place on Sunday, August 12 at 3pm and will be launched former gallery owner Jeremy Hill. Readings and recitals will take place on Sunday afternoon. The exhibition is open from August 9 – 19. www.shankillcastle.com

Accommodation ranges from luxury one and two-bedroom suites to cosy family rooms or budget friendly rooms in the new Wild Atlantic Hostel. One of Dublin’s best outdoor hidden gems, only minutes from Grafton Street, the terrace is an ideal post-work catch-up location. www.trinitycityhotel.com
