5 Glossy Things To Do This Weekend

The country may be on lockdown now due to the BEAST FROM THE EAST, but come Saturday, when the snowy weather has (hopefully) cleared off, we’ll want nothing more than to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE. Find our pick of the BEST EVENTS taking place around the country this weekend below …

WHAT: The 29th Cork French Film Festival opens this weekend with Xavier Giannoli’s The Apparition, which tells the story of Jacques Mayanno (Vincent Landon) who, on a mission from the Vatican, investigates a woman’s alleged sighting of apparitions of the Virgin Mary in south east France. Curated by Marie-Pierre Richard, the diverse festival programme also includes award-winning French actress, director and screenwriter Sandrine Bonnaire. She will be in Cork with director Gaël Morel for the screening of Catch the Wind, and will participate in a masterclass at UCC following the screening of their film on Monday March 5. This year’s programme also includes French street artist, Daco, who will display his colourful work at Alliance Française de Cork on Mary Street.
