WHY: To Brown Thomas to see The Marvel Room, which opens on Thursday October 19. We’re particularly looking forward to seeing how street-artist Daniel Cordas will customise some Jimmy Choo trainers in his inimitable style. The London-based graffiti artist will be in store on Friday 20 (from 12pm – 8pm), and Saturday 21 (from 11am – 7pm) to personalise the classic Miami trainer for customers. WHERE: We’re looking forward to a special one-night-only dinner on Friday, October 20, at The Green Barn in Burtown House (just outside Athy in Co Kildare), featuring the award-winning author, chef and cookery teacher, Gill Meller of River Cottage. Meller is an advocate of simple, seasonal cookery (as shown in his cookbook Gather) and he has devised a special five-course menu using ingredients from Burtown House’s garden, selected with kitchen gardener Dermot Carey.

WHAT: We endorse @TheDrawingRoom’s initiative to use Georgian town houses as the setting for audiences to enjoy music or art, and at the same time appreciate the beautiful interiors and interesting stories attached to the venues. On Sunday October 22, at 4.30pm, we’re heading to 25 Mountjoy Square, Dublin, to listen to the acclaimed trio – Roman Simovic, Milena Simovic and Tim Hugh. WHO: Acclaimed Italian chef Francesco Mazzei and former Young Chef of the Year Mark Moriarty have devised a special menu for The House of Peroni: La Sagra, a food festival taking place in Meeting House Square this Thursday 19 (5pm-10pm) and Friday 20 (12pm-10pm). A sagra is a traditional Italian food festival hosted annually across towns and villages in Italy to celebrate their local and regional produce and this special Peroni event will celebrate the Irish food producers creating Italian food here in Ireland, including Toons Bridge Dairy and The Wooded Pig.
