WHO: Designer Joseph Walsh will give a free public talk on his sculpture, Magnus Modus in the National Gallery of Ireland on Sunday October 1 at 3pm. Walsh will be joined in conversation with Peter Flynn, Director of Consulting Engineers at ARUP, to talk about the large free-form sculpture made of multiple layers of laminated olive ash wood resting on a limestone base, now a permanent feature of the new Courtyard. www.nationalgallery.ie.


WHAT: Experts from the wedding industry will be gathering at Clontarf Castle Hotel on Sunday October 1 (from 1 – 5pm) for a special Autumn wedding afternoon. Style gurus, make-up artists and travel experts will be sharing their advice and top tips with fashion designer (and one half of design duo Lennon Courtney), Brendan Courtney leading newly-engaged couples through the afternoon. Clontarf Castle’s dedicated wedding team will be available on the day to offer advice on creating your dream day in a 12th-century castle, while guests enjoy Prosecco and a taste of the wedding menus at the castle.

WHEN: The Down Syndrome Centre’s annual Buy My Dress event will take place in the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel in Dublin city centre as well as venues in Cork, Galway and Portlaoise on Saturday September 30. Now in its ninth year Buy My Dress is the biggest annual fundraising drive for The Down Syndrome Centre raising over €500,000 much needed funds to date. “If you love fashion or are looking for that perfect dress for a special occasion then Buy My Dress is the event for you”, says Sharon Dagg, CEO of The Down Syndrome Centre. “Most people can’t get over the style and prices.
