A Simple Dessert That Takes Only 5 Minutes To Prepare

Sweet gomasio with vanilla and silken tofu

Only four main ingredients for this super quick little dessert. Soft silken tofu is a godsend of a fridge staple but of course a good yoghurt would do just fine, particularly the delectable Velvet Cloud sheep’s yoghurt. Gomasio is traditionally a savoury condiment, but here the toasted sesame goes nicely side by side with a touch of fudgy sugar.

For 4. 5 minutes preparation/10 minutes or so cooling.

2 tablespoons white sesame seeds

1 vanilla pod

1 tablespoon dark brown or muscovado sugar

200g/300g soft silken tofu

Pinch of fleur de sel

Toast the seeds in a pan, turn onto a plate and leave to cool.

Split the vanilla pod in two lengthways, scrape out the seeds and mix them through the sugar and the sesame. (Do this in a few turns of a mini processor if you wish.) Add a pinch of salt.

Spoon the tofu into bowls and sprinkle with the sweet gomasio.
