WHEN: Decoristas at heart, we’re heading to an interior design masterclass tonight at Reside’s pop-up shop in Fumbally Exchange, Dame Lane, Dublin 2. Led by interior designer, Suzie McAdam, the informative workshop promises top tips on current design themes, trends and colour. McAdam will also be discussing how different styles work in different spaces, as well as looking at curating design at home – taking inspiration from brands such as Fritz Hansen, Knoll Studio, Moroso and B&B Italia. There are three sessions running on Thursday May 4 (from 6pm – 7.30pm), Friday May 5 (from 11am – 12.30pm), and Saturday May 6 (from 1pm – 2.30pm).  Tickets for the workshops are available from residebyw2w.eventbrite.ie for €10, with all proceeds going to the Jack & Jill foundation. Each guest will be entered into a draw to win a private design consultancy with McAdam, or a special edition iconic Series 7 chair in Merlot & Rose Gold from Fritz Hansen. www.residebyw2w.ie.

WHY: We fully admit to “late onset gardening” a condition only heightened by the current glorious weather, which is why we’re signing up for one of The Garden House’s courses this weekend. Their Potty about Colour container gardening class demonstrates fast track ways to achieving instant colour – be it on a balcony or the most compact decking area. Resident expert, Marie Staunton, will demonstrate how to plant up containers and baskets for every occasion, including a communion day. Staunton will also advise on plants that will add scent and autumn bulbs to keep planters looking fabulous. The classes last for two hours and include a demonstration and question and answer session, with refreshments and a treat. Cost €15. To book call The Garden House, Malahide on: 01 531 2020. www.thegardenhouse.ie.

WHERE: Dublin’s Herbert Park is undoubtedly the place to be this weekend, where Wellfest 2017 takes place over two days (May 6 and 7). It’s best to plan the days carefully as the festival has a jam-packed schedule including: a Q&A session with John Kavanagh (coach to Conor McGregor), a HIIT workout with Joe Wicks “The Body Coach” – the man behind the “Lean in 15” phenomenon – and cooking demonstrations from The Happy Pear. We’re also looking forward to seeing Juliet Murrell of House of Voga (as profiled in this month’s edition of THE GLOSS) who will be showcasing her signature blend of dance and yoga moves. Herbert Park will be transformed to host eight distinct “WellZones” all dedicated to a different area of health, fitness and wellness. They include: WellStage, WellFood, WellKids, WellTalk, WellMind, WellYoga, WellStrong and WellPilates. For a full programme visit, www.wellfest.ie.

WHAT: If you are searching for a glamorous location to catch up with a girlfriend, may we suggest the newly launched Jazz brunch in No 27 Bar & Lounge at The Shelbourne? On our visit last week, the hotel was buzzing with people dressed to the nines enjoying fine food, cocktails and live music. Sitting beside tall, graceful windows, the view overlooking St Stephen’s Green added to the enjoyment of our visit. As for the menu; there’s a choice of thirteen brunch options from classics such as eggs Benedict, oysters, omelettes, fish and chips or steak and eggs accompanied with wine, fizz, brunch cocktails or healthy juices. All told, there is definitely something for everyone. For those with a sweet tooth dessert is a must! Sunday Jazz Brunch menu is served between 12pm-4pm, with two sittings. AND: The countdown to summer grooming has started. We’re already using a light fake tan and thinking about showing a leg. Meanwhile prepping the rest of our body takes more time and dedication. Monart Spa’s new Pevonia Anti-Age Retinol Facial (€120) may help to even out skin tone and pigmentation as well as increase moisture. It uses two per cent retinol during the one-hour treatment, effectively making it the most potent anti-age facial treatment available bar chemical peels. As the perfect way to wind down after a busy week, any excuse to visit the five-star destination spa in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, works for us. www.monart.ie.
