Contemporary American artist Jeff Koons has teamed up with Louis Vuitton to create a new collection of accessories for the brand. Based on Koons’ Gazing Ball series of paintings which features large-scale hand-painted recreations of masterpieces, the accessories collection is a nod to the Old Masters: Van Gogh, Da Vinci, Titian, Rubens and Fragonard.

Koons’ recreations appear on Louis Vuitton’s classic handbag styles, the Speedy, the Neverfull and the Keepall, as well as newer models like the Palm Springs backpack. Also in the collection are silk scarves, and key rings in the shape of Koons’ signature rabbit. Koons has reconfigured the brand’s logo to include his own initials which appears on each piece and inside every bag there is a biography and portrait of the artist who originally created the work as well as their name on the outside in gold or silver plating. The collection will be available from April 28.
