Consider framing some old posters, prints, sketches, or even magazine tears for a simple and cost-effective way to transform a tired space in the home. IKEA have announced that they will be releasing a limited edition art collection in April, featuring 12 posters with hand drawn motifs by a number of illustrators from around the world. At just €12 each why not pick up a couple, frame them and start your feature wall.

Look to online marketplace Etsy for a wide selection of handmade and vintage posters and prints – some are downloadable, others are traditional paper prints. Or go DIY and create your own- get crafty with pen, pencil or paint, or repurpose old books and magazines by pulling your favourite pages and images and inserting them into pretty new frames. A low-effort (and low-cost!) way to bring a dull space to life again with the help of some simple additions.

Ikea, €12, available from April.
