Here it is – the last hurrah, so to speak. The end of what I like to call Sparkle Season is nearing – soon we’ll be back in austere grey knits as we clutch our green juices, but for now, there is one more excuse to celebrate in all our shining glory – New Year’s Eve.

Before we even start thinking about 2017 dressing, we are taking one last note of Simone Rocha’s 2016 collections: frothy pinks, tulles and satins, with a dash of black to keep things sharp. We are matching jewellery to this palette, and noting her use of oversize pieces, almost Stepford in its inspiration.

Oscar de la Renta knows a thing or two about party earrings – they are stocked in Ireland exclusively by Loulerie, and we love how the swinging tassles of their signature beaded chandelier earrings lifts even the most basic LBD. Speaking of Loulerie, we also adore another brand they stock exclusively – Mignonne Gavigan. Their ‘Madeleine’ earrings are like birds of paradise; we think they bring a brilliant, retro feel to even the most minimal outfit.

Wexford-based Blaithin Ennis has the perfect blush pieces, fashioned from fine mesh filled with swarovski crystals for just the right amount of sparkle. Go discreet with a slim bracelet, or choose a fabulous statement piece like this choker, to make a strong impact.

Dinosaur Designs have been featured in Glossy shoots for some time now – I remember as an editorial assistant years ago, trying to find stockists close by so we could make use of their fabulous, colourful costume jewellery. Thankfully they have now landed on Net-a-Porter so are more accessible than ever – this gold tone Orchid bangle is typical of their bold style.
