Irish jewellery brand RIONORE is joining forces with leather designer GARVAN DE BRUIR and illustrator EMMA SHERIDAN to produce gorgeously gifted jewellery, perfect for Mother’s Day …

Last year, we reported on the resurrection of Rionore, an iconic Irish jewellery brand from the 1960s now given a new lease of life, with striking yet delicate designs in gold and silver. Simple, soft triangles are core to the collections – subtle drop earrings, extra-long pendants and substantial collars all make use of the easy, elegant shape, which will fit easily into any jewellery wardrobe.

The concept of Irish design and craftsmanship is taken very seriously by creative director Ruth Maria Murphy. To push the message further, she has chosen to collaborate with other Irish makers in an exciting project that brings together the skills of illustrator Emma Sheridan and leather designer Garvan de Bruir, for Rionore packaging worth keeping. Murphy told us that it was the story of Irish creativity that she really wanted to share with each Rionore customer; she hopes that each recipient will keep Sheridan’s wrapping paper as a little piece of art, and suggests using de Bruir’s custom-designed leather strap as a wrist band, or even to keep pencils organised – certainly adding a little Irish luxury to the everyday (as if wearing a beautiful piece of gold or silver jewellery wasn’t enough).

We love the whole package – and with Mother’s Day literally around the corner, it would make such a lovely gift to open on March 6. Pieces start at €50; the whole collection is available online.
